My skin is so bad, I have major breakouts....ARGHHHH!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

First day.

I reached the store at 810am, no big dramas reported, just some minor glitches.

The rest of the day passed relatively calmly. We were all a bit lost because things are placed differently, and we had to be careful not to make mistakes.

It is interesting to see who can react better to changes.

Starting next week, all the appointments are fully booked, and the real test begins.

Worked from 10am to 9pm yesterday. My colleague stayed until 10pm.

Too many things not working and breaking down, I don't know how we are going to operate at 8am today.

I am so tired my fingers are stiff and my brain has turned to glue.

OMG it is raining....bleh.

Hat is back into the house this morning. I am glad.

Another long day. Less physical works but a lot of details and fine tunings.

Worked from 830am to 9pm. I had lost all sense of time and days.

Another day tomorrow, then the real battle begins.

The new place is nice and spacious. I had tried to make it as comfortable and efficient as possible. I hope they will be happy working there.

Spencer is upset, because I was late again. She is very upset and vocal, and clingy.

Max has come and gone. I had only seen him for one hour over the last three days.

I saw Mera this morning, Bh2 Calico Hat and Tofu just now. Uncle said Yb has been missing since this morning.

I will miss this path.

This was the path I walked up to work everyday for the last 2 months, where I could see trees and blue sky.

This was the path I walked down after work, silently, and at the gate we said goodbyes.

Yesterday was first day of the move back to the old site. I don't know how are we going to operate on Tuesday, because the building looks half completed with awnings and canvas outside.

I worked from 730am to 1030pm. It will be another two days like this. Friday night was relatively easy and we could leave at 6pm. Yesterday was really the crunch. There were still many patients until 1pm and the movers were coming at 230pm. We had 15 computers to disconnect and hundreds of glass bottles to cushion.

We left the temp site at 3pm. But the movers didn't arrive until 4pm.

It is easy to pack than unpack, especially of it is the same person doing it. Ugh~

This is the kind of situation when you can see who is the real worker and who just contribute with their voice.

Bed after midnight with muscles aches, scratches, cuts and bruises.

See how cosy these two are.....

Spencer was a bit pissed off that Hat had chopped the sofa. She just sat at the bottom of the sofa until I saw her and carried her up. I knew she would not like to see Hat, so I put a cushion in between.

But it was still not good enough for Spencer. She thought Hat had taken up too much space.

After some minor adjustments........

Spencer: HMPH, that is more satisfactory!!

More fruits.

Apricots, nectarines and peaches from OZ are out. The apricots are not sweet, but the stones come out easily.

See the mini apple? It is cherry apple from South Africa. There are also Gala and Golden Delicious.

Persimmons are still coming from Israel and Korea.

I even saw mini mandarins from Jeju, and Korean strawberries.

Christmas for me, is 40c heat.

He stayed on the corridor for hours, to get away from the cold.

He ate sardines twice and biscuits with treats three times. He snorgled matatabit twice, played strings once, got unlimited scritches and back massages.I let him try a new fish snack from GER, but he squinted at the fishy taste.

I would have prefer him to come in and sleep, but he would not agree.

Silly Mera. I hope he will be warm and safe, since the rainy season has started.

I got some lovely lovely Australian cherries from NTUC yesterday.

They were surprisingly sweet.

Cherries have always been a Christmas treat.

Hope every kitties in this world has a warm, tummy filled, snuggly and peaceful Christmas.

They had split in October.

Is there no more fairy tales in this world?

For a change, I know what I want for Christmas.

But I know I will NOT get it. All the Santas in this world cannot help me.

Less presents from new colleagues this year, Sister S should be pleased.

It has been raining non stop since 4am. Bleh.

I had half day off, and a cheesy headache-inducing pizza and chocolate banana cake lunch after that.

We will start the move back to the old site on the 26th, so it will be a Nightmare After Christmas.

I was terribly unwell when I woke at 530am. I fed Mera and Kiki, then I started to feel this great cramp. It was so bad sweats poured out from my body!! I tried to vomit but nothing came out. There was nothing much Sister S could do, except to put me back to bed with a hot water bottle and Spencer.

And I was supposed to open the shop this morning. I tried to wake the other two key holders, but they were still in bed. I finally found one of them at 7am, then I fell asleep and didn't wake until 10am. Spencer slept all the way with me, bless her soul.

I gave her some food and matatabi, then I went to work. I didn't want to, but I was sent such a nasty sms, I couldn't handle it.

Now I still feel heavy headed and a bit dizzy. No sudden movement for me, and no looking at computer screen for too long.

I think it is my reflux plus migraine plus virus.

Erm...ceiling cat?

I woke up at 545am to find this cat outside. Kiki had been quarelling with it for hours already.

It looks well fed and tame. I let it sniff my hand.

Pretty Miss Spencer.

Never knew pink goes so well with black.

I think she knows she looks swell too.

Yumz....

This was what happened yesterday afternoon.

I saw Mera at the garden, so I thought of bringing him some food.

In my haste, I didn't check the label.

It was only when I reached him and opened the can, then I realised I had taken turkey feast instead of sardines shrimps and crabs in aspic.

For those of you who knows, they both have the same color label.

Mera only eats sardines and nothing else. No fancy pancy western cuisine for him!!

I had to go back up and get the correct can, and give the turkey to Kiki.

I was glad Mera waited for me to come back, patiently. He did meow at me a few times though.

Good weather again...but it may rain later.

Mera and Kiki were waiting for me at 8am. Kiki ate 3 servings. Mera is watching him like a hawk, but they seem to have strike a deal.

Hat came into my room later and crept out again, when he saw Spencer and I both sleeping. He got his brunch at 11am.

Sister S is back. Spencer sulked all morning, for some strange reason. Now she is conked out in the store room under her throne.

Hat is sleeping on the bookshelves.
4 more days to Christmas, the last weekend before Christmas.

If you still can't find THAT perfect Christmas present, I think it is pretty much a lost cause.

I expect Takashimaya Basement 1 is as crazy as this crowd right now.

The good old un PC days......before EU and all that red tapes.....

They somehow reminds me of gum nuts.

This is my favourite. Winter solstice today, 6 more weeks to CNY...*panic*

I cannot feel great rush of affection,  I cannot feel insiduous stream of hatred.

The state I have to achieve, is to feel NOTHING.

Even if the person is bleeding, even if the person is hanging on the cliff edge with its fingers; I will not give it a good kick in the head, neither will I rush to save it.

Only then I can learn to forgive, and forget.

We are blessed.

Spencer's friend from Canada sent us a card, and a maple leaf!!!!

The leaf is so beautiful.

Mera is well.

Spencer: what is so funny???

She is the world's crabbiest Santa helper.

I was wrapping gifts, and she was growling and snarling, pawing my wrist and sniping at my ankle!! Then she went to sulk among the plastic bags.

I really don't know what she was upset about.

When someone doesn't reply your sms messages, it is either they are rude, or they don't care a hoot about you.

So, go rot in hell.

I have bought all the gifts.....now the challenge is to wrap them!!!!! I am lousy in wrapping, unless it is a square.

I just saw this news item on TV, the rage this year is trying to wrap the gift in the worst possible way aka CrapWrap.

Dang, they can make money like that!!

Good weather, and I am sick as a dog.

Hat is still in the house. He is very scared of Kiki.

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

My young staffs asked me why I am working so hard.

I guess if I am so tired and numb, I will not think of things I don't want to think, I won't do the things I want to do, say the things I want to say.
Things which go bump in the night.....

Woke up at 5am and surprised to see Hat on the sofa. It must be the cold weather which did it. I have lost track of how long he hasn't stepped into the house, even after I brought him up. He would scamper away like a rabbit.

OK lah, home for the holidays and all the mushy c**p......

Hat happily reunited with his toy dog.

OK, I won't have time to send out Christmas cards and parcels this year. I am so overwhelmed with work, we are moving back again the Christmas week. There are still a lot to be done, I don't think we can open by 30th December.

For those who have sent me Christmas cards, I thank you, and I will try to send one back as soon as possible.

I hope to have a peaceful New Year at least.
